It works fine but it's nothing special, that's for sure. Unfortunately, this is pretty representative of 'modern' CB radios. You need to spend double what this unit costs to get something reasonable, but even then you aren't guaranteed good build quality - just more buttons and dials.

The Fidelity was a well built cheap rig to give access to the 40 uk Channels, there are still many in use today, comparing it to a cobra 148 is daft, the cobra could not even get all 40 uk channels without being pissed about with and it cost about 10 times as much and was 3 times the size.
It was cheap and it worked, and probably did more to get people on the cb radio for the first time than a lot of the more expensive radios that were out of reach of the everyday school kid or teenager working his first job.
in 1982 when i was 16 and started work i was on 86p an hour, went up to a whole pound when i was 17 in 1983.. take home pay about 40 quid for 40 hours work, after paying my keep i was left with 30 quid to live on, i wanted a rotel rvc 240 and they were about 80 quid at the time, so i bought a a
Amstrad cb 901 for 29.99 on pay day and had 1p to last me the rest of the week, well i borrowed a fiver off my dad.
Next weeks wages i bought a power supply, and a mag mount antenna, stuck it up in my loft, never checked the swr and used it without any problems for over a year before upgrading to a Lafayette 1200fm which i bought second hand for 100 quid, my parents thought i was mad with all the "what does this one do that the other one don't, why don't you spend the money on driving lessons or save the money etc etc"
The guy i bought it off had a Cobra 148 for sale at 175 quid and it had lo lo- hi hi, but there was no way i could come up with that sort of money without resorting to crime or saving for months at a time

Testing a pair of old type CB 27/81 sets on the river Lea this week. The twigs cost more than the rigs on Ebay! I was not surprised to find that 27mhz FM had been used already on the cut. I hope it catches on, I can see it being a practical addition to an inland boat. And saving a fortune on cellphone calls.

Hello
I have a small problem with my TCB 880 and PLEASE I need your help.
When I removed top cover of radio on mainboard I noticed a small capacity (capacitor 47mF/16V).
I accidentally ripped it out and since on board there is no written + / - (plus or minus pole) I don't know how to return them back on right side. Can someone of you who have 880 please send me a picture (please not scheme) of board
and capacity position so I can see where is + and - pole.
mail:
max328ct001@yahoo.com

Thanks & Regards

Is there anyone in the uk that actually repairs these radios. I live in the lincolshire area and finding a decent cb/hf radio engineer is not easy. Infact pretty impossible. If anyone knows where to send these radios to be fixed please could you let me know who and where they are. Many thanks.

Hello, I once had a conversation from the North of France to Massachusetts from my car with a S9+ car antenna and the stock Jackson using SSB. It's now 22 years old and still works like a charm.

My review after one week use of a brand new mk2-

A. fm audio very very low, even with icom hm-36 mike.

B. vfo knob shows some sign of movement and becoming loose.

C. Microphone will not scan up/down due to loose mike plug.

D. When fast tuning VFO the radio goes into a auto scan mode, only way to stop it is to re-tune vfo.

The radio has several faults from new,the retailer explained these are common problems and Yetti.com have been informed.
Not a good start for this radio...what a shame...was so looking forward to getting this set.
