Hello
I am about to buy a Yagi of some discription soon and was not looking to invest in a beam such as ZX/GB yagi as my location is temporary and the beam will not be a permanent fixture.
I am sure some of you use Sirio SY27-4, just wanted to know what the construction is like, i.e. is the aluminum hard of soft type ?
How easy to tune ? is it cut for .555 or is it made for the origional AM 40ch band ?
What sort of diameter are the elements ? can it with stand our winter winds/gales.
Any info good/bad would be pleased to know.

Thanks. SS2K

Hi SS2k
I bought this SY27-4 a couple of years ago. I only ever put it up temporarily as I only have a small garden and this antenna is huge! It must take up a good 20 foot square. Its mounted on a telescopic lighting tripod in the middle of the garden and has to be rotated manually. I have had some great results from this antenna and I would say the aluminium is the same if not slightly heaver than your average GP. Tuning is an easy adjustment on the short tuning element. Hope this is some help.
Good Luck!

Very well made and easy to tune but they are really big and better than anything i've tried.
